The 12th St. Petersburg International United Cultures Forum will be held in St. Petersburg on 24–26 September 2026. The main theme of the Forum is ‘United Cultures, Common Values’.

This year the Forum is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, and the Government of St. Petersburg.

The St. Petersburg International United Cultures Forum has been taking place since 2012, in which time it has proven a unique discussion platform for cooperation in culture and art and a place to engage in open, meaningful discussions on the development of culture in the modern world.

A special part of the business programme that has featured thematic sections with the ministers of culture and heads of cultural institutions from the constituent entities of the Russian Federation since 2024 has been dedicated to the regional interests of the Government of St. Petersburg.

This year’s regional programme has been developed by the St. Petersburg Committee for Culture and consists of six thematic sections: Productions, Exhibitions, Education, and a Special Heroic Project, Special Creative Project, and Special International Project.

Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov has declared 2026 the Year of St. Petersburg Culture, as a result of which the events of the regional programme will be dedicated to the Year of St. Petersburg Culture as well as the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia.

“St. Petersburg’s experience in the realm of culture is unique, and we are happy to share it with our colleagues from other regions and countries. The Forum’s regional programme is an opportunity to discuss specific practices, successful projects, and new institutional formats. During this Year of St. Petersburg Culture, it is especially important that we showcase just how rich the city’s cultural life is while also creating a space where professionals can engage with one another to give rise to new joint initiatives,” Deputy Governor of St. Petersburg Boris Piotrovsky said.

The Forum cultural programme will also feature a number of major events at St. Petersburg’s top venues.

The exhibition ‘Russian Drama Theatre. 150 Years of the Union of Theatre Workers’, one of the central events of a national celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Union of Theatre Workers of Russia, will open at the Manege Central Exhibition Hall on 24 September.

A gala concert in honour of Boris Eifman’s anniversary will take to the stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre on 24–25 September.

The Mariupol Russian Drama Theatre will perform at the Komissarzhevskaya St. Petersburg Academic Theatre on 25–26 September.

The Forum’s Organizing Partner is Promsvyazbank, and the official vehicle of the Forum is Hongqi. The Forum is being held with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the State Hermitage Museum, Channel One, the Union of Theatre Workers of Russia, the Great Moscow State Circus, the St. Petersburg State Academic Capella, Mariinsky II, the Meganom Academy of Creative Industries (a project of the Tavrida Art Cluster), the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives, the Russian Historical Society, the St. Petersburg Repin Academy of Arts, the Russian Ethnographic Museum, the Union of Museums of Russia, the TASS Russian News Agency, and the State Theatre of Nations.
