Artificial Intelligence for Museums: Hidden Opportunities
Questions about what artificial intelligence and AI-based tools actually represent when used to create works, whether images, video, or music, are being raised with increasing urgency in the cultural world. Is AI generation a tool, a creator, or a plagiarist? Is bringing masterpieces to life popularization or vulgarization? The technology is already here and the rules are not, and if the cultural community does not articulate its position now, the rules will be written by those who do not care about art at all. AI generation is a brush, not an artist. But it is a brush that has memorized every painting in the world and never asked permission. Our task is not to break it but to learn to handle it in such a way that Rembrandt does not become a dataset, or Vasnetsov a prompt.
